Manages, maintains and builds the Latvian public-use rail network and is the buyer for almost every 1520 mm rail contract above the Atlas floor. Its own 2025 performance indicators put the network at 1,831 km of operational line — 1,798 km at broad gauge, of which 367 km double track or more, and 33 km of narrow gauge — with an overall line length of 3,177 km and 2,217 km of main-line track. Track gauge is 1520 mm throughout except the Gulbene–Alūksne line, which is 750 mm. Electrification reaches 251 km of operational line, with 632 km of catenary and 640 transformer substations, and the Network Statement 2027 gives the direct-current voltage on the electrified lines as 3.3 kV. Signalling on the 1520 mm network is field traffic lights with the automatic locomotive signalling system ALSN, which the control-command TSI classes as a Class B system; there is no ETCS on the network. The Network Statement 2027 records 1,348 km of track sections with an automatic locking system, of which 846 km also have dispatcher centralisation, alongside 368 km on semi-automatic locking and 60 km worked by dispatcher orders or shunting trainsets — 1,776 km in all on that document's own basis of measurement. The network has 3,216 switches, of which 2,664 electrically interlocked, 161 stations with electrical interlocking, 140 stations and stopping points with passing tracks, 73 stations with freight operations and six major junctions. The group had an average workforce of 4,959 in 2025, against 5,742 in 2024, and carried 10,214 thousand train-kilometres over the year.
