Editions and prices

One market edition is free. The rest cost less than a lost afternoon.

The Atlas is sold by market edition. Everyone gets the whole map. One email opens one edition in full, your choice. The other editions are subscriptions, priced for a sales team, not a strategy office.

Prices

One market edition is free with your work email — one per company from 1 October 2026. The rest are in US dollars, excluding tax. Tax is added at checkout where it applies; checkout may show the equivalent in your currency.

All editions is for up to five named readers on one invoice and includes every edition added while the subscription runs. One of the five is free with your email in any case, so a second edition is the first thing you pay for.

The team edition is all editions for up to ten named readers on one invoice. Name the readers by writing to partners@mainline-railway.com; readers can be changed the same way.

Buying opens the edition to the email you check out with; the free edition you choose at the same time stays free for as long as the platform runs.

Five markets are live: the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, India and Canada. No other market is covered yet. Tender floors: ₹50 crore in India; £5 million, €5 million, US$5 million and C$5 million elsewhere; in the United Kingdom open signalling, telecoms and digital solicitations enter from £1 million.

Free for everyone

The whole map, no email.

Every market, region, buyer, player, tender and relationship. Every source line and tier grade. Search, filters, the events calendar, and each tender's status and the month of its next key date.

Free with one email

One edition, in full.

Leave a work email at the Atlas gate and choose your free edition — any of the five, your choice. Role and company can follow later. Every locked row in that edition opens, and its tables export to CSV. Nothing expires. The same email brings you the Brief.

Paid

The other editions.

Add a second market, or all five. Bought and managed inside the Atlas, billed through Stripe, cancel any time. A first annual purchase is refundable in full within 14 days.

What an edition opens

Each edition carries the same gated layer for its market: exact tender values and exact dates; the published bidders; each buyer's procurement structure and entry path; the players' incumbent positions and partner routes; the market's procurement routes, meaning who lets which kind of contract, at what threshold, through which portal or framework; and CSV export of the tables. A player's gated layer opens with any edition the player is active in.

What the export looks like

Every table in an edition exports to CSV with these columns:

tender_id market region city buyer title scope_headline segments technology_areas status status_detail next_date value_band currency value_usd_band value_exact key_dates published_bidders sources

Three open tenders from three markets, from the public data. Some columns are omitted here; the CSV carries all 19.

One worked example per market stays fully open for everyone, so you can see the layer before you choose, a buyer and a tender in each. European Union: DB InfraGO and its permanent-way repair frameworks. United States: NJ Transit and the Portal North Bridge. United Kingdom: HS2 Ltd and STAR Four. India: MMRDA and its Line 4 systems tender. Canada: Metrolinx and the Ontario Line rolling stock, systems, operations and maintenance contract.

Buying for a team

Three ways to buy for more than one reader:

  • One edition, one reader: US$590 a year or US$59 a month. One named reader.
  • All editions, up to five readers: US$1,690 a year or US$169 a month. Up to five named readers on one invoice. Readers are named by writing their email addresses to partners@mainline-railway.com and changed the same way. Each reader signs in with their own email and may use three devices at a time; signing in on a fourth device signs out the one used least recently.
  • Team edition, up to ten readers: US$2,900 a year or US$290 a month. All editions for up to ten named readers on one invoice. Readers are named the same way, and each gets three devices.

How a team evaluates it

  1. Open the free surface and the worked examples — no email needed. Browse the buyers, tenders, and players across all five markets, search, and filter.
  2. One reader opens a free edition and downloads the sample export to see what the CSV looks like with all columns.
  3. The buyer adds the edition they want from this page (single edition, all editions, or team), then sends the reader list to partners@mainline-railway.com. Each reader gains full access immediately.

How to read the Atlas

Questions

  • How do I buy? Open the Atlas, open your free edition, then click any locked row in another edition, or the editions button in the Atlas bar. Checkout runs on Stripe; the edition opens the moment you return.
  • Can I choose which edition is free? Yes, once, at the gate. If you later need a different market, add it as a paid edition; the free one stays open.
  • Buying for a company? Enter the company's details at checkout, and its VAT or GST number where the form offers it, so the tax invoice is issued correctly. One subscription is for one named reader; write to us for several seats.
  • Can I cancel? Any time, from "Manage billing" in your editions view or from your Link account. Access runs to the end of the period you paid for, and nothing further is taken.
  • Refunds? A first annual purchase is refundable in full within 14 days of payment, on request. Monthly payments and renewals are not refundable.
  • Who is the seller? Stripe, through Link, is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles the tax, and sends the receipt and invoice. Your card statement reads LINK.COM* MAINLINE ATLAS. The full rules are in the terms.
  • Do I need a password? No. Your email is the account. On a new device, ask the Atlas for a sign-in link.
  • What's in an edition, and what's free either way? Every market, buyer, player and tender is free to browse. See how the Atlas is compiled for the source rules behind the record.
  • Can a team share one subscription? Yes, through the team edition: all editions for up to ten named readers, on one invoice. Send the list of addresses to partners@mainline-railway.com and each is attached to the subscription. A single edition or all-editions subscription is one named reader.
  • On how many devices can I use a paid edition? Up to three at a time per reader — a laptop, a phone and a tablet, for example. Signing in on a fourth signs out the one you used least recently. To move an edition to a new device, ask the Atlas for a sign-in link.
