India Entry
Entering the Indian rail market, with someone on the ground.
The Atlas covers five markets. Where you want someone on the ground, we work with you directly — today, in India.
Who this is for
International suppliers of rail and metro products — signalling, rolling-stock systems, track technology, digital operations, components — deciding whether to sell into India and how.
The Atlas tells you who buys and who already holds the positions. India Entry is for the step after that: the door, the partner and the meeting.
Three steps, in order
-
Discovery call
We decide together whether a Readout makes sense. The call ends with a Readout proposal or a "not now". No entry advice is given on the call.
-
India Entry Readout
Built on the India edition of the Atlas. You get the named buyers for your product, who holds the incumbent positions, the procurement route in, a realistic partner shortlist, and a go/no-go with reasons.
It includes a working session with one of Mainline's India advisors — senior practitioners from the Indian rail industry who work with us on engagements — to go through the conclusions and the executable path forward. One revision. The Readout fee is credited against the first retainer month.
-
Entry retainer
The same advisor, on the ground: a fixed number of introductions and meetings a month, tender tracking on your named buyers, and in the room for partner negotiations.
What you hold after two weeks
The buyers, named.
Which bodies buy what you sell — metro corporations, Indian Railways' production units and zones, DFCCIL, the KAVACH and Vande Bharat primes — with the procurement record behind each.
The incumbents.
Who holds the positions you want, on what contract, since when.
The route in.
Which tender route, which approvals, which localisation conditions apply to your product.
The partner shortlist.
Indian firms that could carry your product into a bid, with the reason for each.
Go or no-go, with reasons.
A one-page answer you can take to a board.
Who you work with
The Founder runs every engagement and writes every Readout.
The working session, and the retainer, are with one of Mainline's India advisors: senior practitioners from the Indian rail industry who work with us on engagements.
Every claim in a Readout carries its source, as on the Atlas.
