Complete: the project opened in August 2024 on TriMet's own project history page. It extended MAX Red Line service west from Beaverton Transit Center to a new terminus at the Hillsboro Airport/Fairgrounds station, serving ten more existing Blue Line stations, doubled MAX service between Beaverton and Hillsboro, built TriMet's first new MAX station in nine years at Gateway North, converted two single-track sections - the Red Line at Gateway Transit Center and at the Portland International Airport station - to double track, and built two new bridges and pathways. The FY2027 capital programme still carries funding on the Red Line Extension and Reliability Improvements line, PRJ_4638, and the budget's operating-impacts table books a yearly increase net of estimated new fare revenue.
