VPRA records the 2022 CRISI grant as obligated in February 2026 between NCDOT and the Federal Railroad Administration, cost and schedule risk analysis meetings held in Raleigh from April to May 2026 with all project stakeholders, and 30 per cent design kickoff meetings with consultants in June 2026. Estimated completion of the design phase 2027. The corridor is not one of Virginia's Corridor ID corridors and does not appear on the Federal Railroad Administration's Corridor ID obligation status report of March 2026.
