With the new section the existing 10,000 m2 of green space is to grow by nearly 60 per cent and the 2.3 km tree-lined avenue to more than 400 trees. Kennedy and rue Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi began in February 2025 — pruning, removal and transplanting of trees, site installation, temporary road layouts and removal of street furniture — all subject to prior authorisation by the State services and the Ville de Luxembourg; Luxtram has also begun diverting and renewing the underground utility networks under the future tram platform.
