With the new section the existing 10,000 m2 of green space is to grow by nearly 60 per cent and the 2.3 km tree-lined avenue to more than 400 trees. Kennedy and rue Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi began in February 2025 — pruning, removal and transplanting of trees, site installation, temporary road layouts and removal of street furniture — all subject to prior authorisation by the State services and the Ville de Luxembourg; Luxtram has also begun diverting and renewing the underground utility networks under the future tram platform. 'Depuis le 02 mars 2025, le tram a Luxembourg-Ville circule sur la ligne 1 complete, circulant entre l'Aeroport et la Cloche d'Or.' Extension 1, in construction, is line K2A on the Kirchberg between the Pont Rouge and Luxexpo by way of the Kuebebierg. 'Une deuxieme extension, dont le projet de loi a ete approuve par le gouvernement fin 2025, est prevue sur la Route d'Arlon entre la Place de l'Etoile et le Centre hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL). Ce projet majeur de 2,2 km incluera 4 arrets supplementaires ainsi un tunnel entre le CHL et l'actuel Stade Josy Barthel. Inscrit dans le Plan national de mobilite 2035, ce projet servira a delester le trafic dans l'ouest de la ville de Luxembourg. Une mise en service est prevue a l'horizon 2032.' Ce montant correspond a la valeur 775,93 de l'indice semestriel des prix de la construction au 1er avril 2017.'
