About this buyer

LTG Infra manages, uses and disposes of the public railway infrastructure by right of trust and performs the manager's statutory functions: renewal and maintenance of the network, organisation of railway traffic, proposals on development programmes, implementation of development programmes and projects, operation of the network, provision of the minimum access package, management of state-owned railway service facilities, and consultation with infrastructure users. Its Network Statement 2026–2027 puts the total length of railway at 1,924.3 km — 1,445.1 km single track, 478.3 km double track and 1.0 km triple track — of which 1,796 km is 1,520 mm gauge and 128.4 km is 1,435 mm gauge. Within that network, 1,457.3 km of 1,520 mm track and 128.4 km of 1,435 mm track belong to the trans-European transport network. The operational length of electrified lines is 559.5 km at 25 kV 50 Hz AC, covering State border–Kena–Naujoji Vilnia–Vilnius, Kyviškės–Valčiūnai–Vaidotai–Paneriai, Valčiūnai–Kirtimai–Vaidotai–Paneriai, Vilnius–Kaunas, Lentvaris–Trakai and Kaišiadorys–Klaipėda (Draugystė). Maximum permissible static axle load is 25 t on 1,520 mm lines and 22.5 t on 1,435 mm lines. The RFC8 North Sea–Baltic rail freight corridor crosses the network. On signalling, the Network Statement records relay interlocking in most stations, mechanical locking of points and signals in nine stations, and microprocessor interlockings — Ebilock 950, SIMIS-IS and ESA 11-LG — on renovated lines, with automatic and semi-automatic block on intermediate sections used together with the ALS automatic cab-signalling train protection system; the statement's own wording is that all traction rolling stock must carry those systems or an STM module 'until the Class A signalling system is installed on the Infrastructure railway lines'.
