The grant would fund track upgrades, bridge rehabilitations, crossing improvements and three temporary accessible station platforms at Madison, Watertown and Pewaukee. American Rails (Secondary, unconfirmed) reports the CPKC main line to Watertown and Wisconsin & Southern track on to Madison; the application was not read. The Governor's release says award determinations are expected in the coming months; Progressive Railroading reports WisDOT saying local and state dollars would cover the remaining costs. No selection had been published when read on 7 October 2026.
