Under the annual amendments to that agreement the City pays for all streetcar rolling stock, equipment and maintenance and provides managers and supervisors, while TriMet provides the unionised operators and pays the City a share of operating costs: $10,141,766 for FY2026 under Amendment No. 16. The Montgomery Park extension would add 0.7 miles and two stations and use Portland's first off-wire battery streetcars.
