The programme's authorized allocation rose in the 2026 budget to fully fund a five-year plan to modernise critical components of the vertical transportation assets. Work is under way: modernisation of two escalators at International District Station, steel work for the SeaTac Airport second elevator shaft ahead of the World Cup, and the second phase of the modernisation programme.
