Paused since June 2020 and not resumed. SDOT's project page states, in its own words, that “the Connector project was paused in June of 2020 because of diminished funding from our partners due to COVID-19”, that at the time of reading there is no change to the status of the project, that money has been set aside and designs are still active, and that the project will cost more to complete because of inflation. A separate and earlier stop is recorded in SDOT's own Delivery Assessment, which dates a decision to pause the project to 2018, when the mainline track and civil package had been bid but was not awarded. The Delivery Assessment completed in late 2023 established a new baseline cost and schedule; the buyer publishes no procurement date and no solicitation is open.
