VRE awarded the CM/GC preconstruction services contract to Skanska USA Civil Northeast, Inc. by Operations Board resolution in July 2026, issued the notice of intent to award on July, the notice of contract award on August and the notice to proceed in August 2026; VPRA records that a 60 per cent design submittal to VRE was expected in October 2026. The construction contract will follow as a guaranteed maximum price negotiated with the same firm, not as a new competition. Part of the project is recorded as unfunded in VRE's capital programme. A separate Request for Proposals for cost estimating and cost validation services in support of the CM/GC delivery, RFP 026-007, closed for proposals in September 2026 and no award had been published in September 2026.
