GCRTA's first Siemens S200 light rail vehicle arrived at the Brookpark rail yard in August 2026 and is undergoing commissioning and testing; GCRTA expects Red Line revenue service to begin Summer 2027 and Blue/Green Line revenue service Summer 2028. The existing Heavy Rail (Tokyu Car Corporation, in service since 1984) and Light Rail (Breda, in service since 1981) fleets remain in service pending station platform modifications, which the new, narrower vehicles require before the old fleet can be retired.
