Design, right-of-way acquisition and construction are under way on the Raleigh-Wake Forest segment; construction contracts for the first grade-separation packages, at Durant Road and New Hope Church Road in Raleigh, were issued in 2024 and are tracked as separate tenders in this file. The wider 162-mile Raleigh-Richmond programme (of which this segment is the funded first phase) remains in design.
