The DART is Iarnród Éireann's o…about 50 km at 1,500 V DC, rising to over 150 kmThe DART is Iarnród Éireann's only electrified line. Its Network Statement 2026 records that the Dublin suburban system in the area bounded by Malahide, Howth and Greystones is electrified at 1,500 V DC by overhead contact line, with one or both running rails as the return, contact wire height between 4,200 mm and 5,600 mm and a maximum stagger of 400 mm. The DART+ Programme grows the electrified network from its current 50 km to over 150 km, with DART+ Coastal North alone extending the wire about 37 km from Malahide to Drogheda MacBride; Iarnród Éireann describes DART+ as trebling electrification of the Greater Dublin Area network. No published figure gives the electrified share of the whole network.
